HCII Monkey Banner

HCII Monkey Banner. September 2006. Illustrator (printed). 18.5 in. x 60 in.

I designed the illustration in 2004 as that year's HCII T-shirt. The illustration is a representation of HCII. The monkey represents the HCI researcher and the yellow banana represents the pursuit of knowledge. The monkey stands on top of three objects representing the methods he uses to do HCI research: design, cognitive and behavioral psychology, and computer science.

Hey I work for the Brain-Computer Interface Project at the University of Washington in Seattle, but I grew up in Pittsburgh when my dad got his PhD at CMU! Weird!! I found your webpage through Threadless, but since I haven't master Illustrator yet, so far my critiques have been kinda crappy.... This illustration is amazing! Do you just do it on Illustrator?? You can post a comment to http://nwwildlife.blogspot.com/ if you'd like. Again, this is a great illustration, and one that I can personally relate to!
