My Mouse Movements (MMM) is a gadget that visualizes how much you move your mouse during the day. It is implemented for the Google Desktop Sidebar. |
Does it record my location?
Don't worry. MMM does not record the location of your mouse.
MMM checks ten times a minute to see
whether the mouse has moved. For each minute, it stores the number of
times the mouse location changed (e.g., 4 out of 10).
How does it work?
MMM displays each minute as a rectangle with a color. Each row in
the display contains 60 squares representing a whole hour. The
24 rows represent a whole day of data.
Can I change the color?
Yes, you can change the color of the display by invoking the menu
at the top-right corner of gadget. The available colors are:
orange, blue, red, green, purple, and black.
Can I see my average mouse movements per hour?
Yes, you can set the display to average your mouse movements by hour,
15 minutes, 10 minutes, and 5 minutes.

Seven days of data to demonstrate how My Mouse Movements might be useful.
I was slacking then worked late.
The mad dash before the gadget deadline.
Look at the bottom six hours. I was working, but switching between my PC and Mac.
Mostly class and switching between my Mac and PC. Using SPSS at 7pm.
I seem to not remember what I did. There were some points when I was fixing this gadget.
Another late day. Continued working on one of my research projects.
I was writing on my Mac and developing on my PC at the same time.
